 The Underground 2009-10
The Underground Teen Center is an RCA sponsored program held in the lower level of the Rowayton Community Center. It provides a safe and supervised venue where our middle-school kids (6th, 7th, 8th graders) can "hang out" and socialize with friends one Friday night a month. There is an adult chaperone and 2-3 high school students in attendance. There are board games, cards, ping pong, pool, foosball and a pinball machine. Weather permitting; there are also outdoor activities such as basketball, soccer, football, flashlight tag, Frisbee and "manhunt."

They will also be scheduling some special events such as bingo, bowling and a final beach party in June. This year the 6th graders will meet one Friday night a month from 6:30-8:30 and the 7th/8th graders will meet together one Friday night a month from 6:30-8:30. A one-time registration fee of $90 for the year pays for staff as well as a pizza dinner each night for 10 sessions from Oct-June. This year's Underground is a work in progress and each month will be a little different. We will be using email as our primary source of communicating monthly reminders, schedule changes and special events!

While this program is primarily for 6th taxing district residents, school friends residing outside of Rowayton are welcome to join in, but must be sponsored by a resident. The opening night for 6th graders is Friday October 9th, 6:30-8:30PM. The opening night for 7th/8th graders is Friday Oct. 30th, 6:30-8:30PM. Please download the application and code of conduct form at the top of this page, fill them out and bring them with you on the first session, along with payment.
