Each year in May we invite you to celebrate the annual Miles for Myles Fun Run/Walk
(3.1 miles) held in Rowayton in memory of Myles Beringer.
For those
of you who knew Myles, you know the richness he brought to our world. Every year, the third
weekend in May, we celebrate Myles' birthday and his life with this route he loved to walk,
run, or bike. Myles was a beautiful child who brought the gifts of compassion, courage,
tenacity, adaptability, resilience, hope, faith, and most importantly, love without
boundaries into our lives. You may remember a boy who so easily made the simple gesture
of putting his hand in yours.
Myles' life enlightened us to do something in his
name and memory to make life better for others while at the same time perpetuating and
fulfilling the contributions he would have made himself.
In January of 1999
the Beringer family established The Myles M. Beringer Foundation which directly funds
local projects to improve the lives of children and advance pediatric cardiac research
at Yale New Haven Hospital. The Foundation has raised over $76,000.00 which funds
research projects at the Yale School of Medicine, the Myles Beringer Scholarship
Fund at CCNS, renovations of both the CCNS and UCNS playgrounds, the Myles Beringer Fund
at the United Church of Rowayton, and annually awards two $1,000 College Scholarships
to Brian McMahon High School seniors for their outstanding character based upon honesty,
integrity, sportsmanship and leadership.

It is our privilege to extend these
services from the Foundation. Our contributions to the Pediatric Cardiology Research
Fund at the Yale School of Medicine affords Dr. John Fahey and his colleagues the
opportunity to pursue avenues previously unavailable. The advances being made in their
research and in the treatment of children with congenital heart disease is very
encouraging and inspiring. Our funds help to provide for a national training program
for research fellows at times when it is difficult to get funding. Your involvement and financial support in pre-registrations and
donations allows the Foundation to continue to meet these goals each year. Thank you.
