About Rowayton Gardeners
The ongoing work of the Rowayton Gardeners keeps our town looking beautiful. New this season are the original stone benches and planters at the Community Center, pulled from the Ice House and positioned among the plantings bordering the dog park and Highland Avenue. Ongoing projects of the Rowayton Gardeners include the Community Center rose bed and flagpole areas, and the Pinkney Park herb garden.
Meetings
The Rowayton Gardeners meet on the first Thursday of each month at 9:00am at the Rowayton Community Center and welcome anyone interested in gardening. For more information, please contact Membership Chairman, Dossie Sullivan at 853-8109 or email Rowaytongardener@aol.com.
History
The Gardeners Club was organized in 1956 and is a member of the Federated Garden
Clubs of Connecticut, Inc. and the National Garden Clubs, Inc. Its objective
is to stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening among amateurs; to share
in the advantages of an association; to aid in the preservation of native plants; and to encourage conservation and civic planning. |
