Rowayton Gardeners’
Annual Christmas Market

Saturday, December 3rd, 10:00am-1:00pm

Nothing makes a community feel more like home than beautiful civic gardens. Now, you can bring that beauty into your home for the holidays with hand decorated wreaths, table arrangements and centerpieces. Mark your calendars for the Rowayton Gardeners’ Christmas Market on Saturday, Dec. 3rd, 10am-1pm.

If you wish to volunteer to help make these arrangements, workshops will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 2nd and continue through November. The sale and workshops will take place at the Community Center.

The Christmas Market, along with the Plant Sale in May, generates the funds to support the Gardeners’ mission of civic beautification. In addition to the gardens at the Community Center, projects included the restoration of the Rowayton School pond, McKinley Triangle and new flower beds at Bayley Beach.

The Rowayton Gardeners meet on the first Thursday of each month at 9am at the Community Center. New members are welcome! Please contact Membership Chairperson Dossie Sullivan at 853-8109 for more information or visit their website at www.RowaytonGardeners.org.

RCA Lights Up Rowayton!
Sunday, December 4th,
4:30-6:00pm

Downtown Rowayton will come alive with twinkling lights at the 11th annual holiday town lighting. Last year’s event brought out huge crowds despite cold temperatures! Festivities will begin at Pinkney Park with the lighting of the Christmas tree and caroling, led by voices from local choirs. Then stroll down Rowayton Avenue to view the window decorations created by local merchants. Enjoy a warm beverage and snack in front of the Rowayton Market, and don’t forget to cast your vote for the best eggnog in Roway ton (visit the RCA website for information on how to submit your eggnog entry). Keep your eyes to the sky; there may even be a Santa sighting!

Rowayton Avenue will be blocked between Wilson Avenue and the Fire House, so please come early if you are driving (Santa’s reindeer and sleigh excepted, of course!).

Santa is coming to Rowayton
Sunday, December 11th

Santa will be making his annual visit to Rowayton aboard his big red Fire Engine sleigh on Sunday, December 11. He’ll arrive at the Rowayton train station at 1:00pm and then make his rounds through Rowayton, stopping at the corner of Crest and Ridgewood, Rowayton Library, the Bell Island Gatehouse, South Beach, the Beach Association Boat House and Brendan’s 101. Children can also visit him at the Fire House on Rowayton Avenue from 2:15-2:45pm.

Residents are also encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy or gift card to the Fire House that day from 1:00-3:00pm, as the Rowayton volunteer firefighters will be collecting toys for the Carver Center’s holiday party. For more information on the toy collection, call 853-0842.

Hope Lights Lives Luminaries Project
Sunday, December 11th, 5:00pm
(Rain date Sunday, Dec. 18th)

All of Rowayton will glow with candlelight on December 11th as residents light luminaries along their property to demonstrate support for those who are dealing with a difficult illness or the loss of a loved one. This will be the 13th year that our community has participated in this powerful event created by the Center For Hope. This is one of the largest fundraisers benefiting the Center for Hope and the Den for Grieving Kids. Order forms for Luminary kits will be available in late November. If you can help, or would like more information, please email Jim Vivier.
