Shakespeare on the Sound Presents: Julius Caesar
Thursday, June 12th – Saturday, June 28th
Join your friends and neighbors this June at a performance of Julius Caesar, Shakespeare on the Sound’s 13th annual free outdoor Shakespeare production. Shakespeare’s riveting tale of politics and power, friendship and betrayal will be performed under the stars in the beautiful waterside setting of Rowayton’s Pinkney Park to an audience of all ages. Performances begin nightly – except Mondays – at 7:30pm from June 12th to 28th, with storytelling for children at 6:30pm. There is no admission fee, although a donation of $20 is appreciated. A limited number of reserved seats are available for a $50 fee.
Bring your family, friends, blanket and picnic baskets, and enjoy an evening of great theatre by the world’s greatest English-language playwright. You may set your blanket or chairs out to hold your space any time after 4:00pm. If you live close by, please consider walking to the park, and help us keep traffic in town to a minimum. If you must drive, please be sure that you are legally parked. If your parking spot is at any distance, please remember that you may pull your car in to the park to drop off your belongings before parking.
Shakespeare on the Sound also proudly funds an extensive Educational Outreach program, which gives the works of Shakespeare a vibrant life beyond the summer festival, reaching thousands of children, adults and families with programs in schools, libraries, after-school programs... and more.
The Shakespeare Playground, our annual week-long theatre workshop for children 8 to 13, will be held at the Rowayton United Methodist Church from June 23rd to 27th from 1:30 to 5:30pm. Please call us early to reserve: this camp sells out!
For more information, including park policies and parking suggestions, please visit www.shakespeareonthesound.org or call Shakespeare on the Sound at 299-1300. We would also love to hear from you if you would like to get involved with us as a volunteer or committee member.
